All my life I have only used gas stoves. Same for my family and friends. Nobody uses induction hob.

For my new place, I am thinking of getting an induction hob. When I googled ‘best induction hob’, different brands popped up ie. Fujioh, Brandt, Bosch.

When I clicked on them, some are two burners, front and back; some are two burners side by side; some are three burners, one big one plus two small ones front and back.

My gas stove was a 3-burner, almost side by side. Even then, I could only use a small egg-frying pan for the small middle burner, so I find induction hobs with 3 burners impractical. Basically, you can only use one burner at any one time unless you are using a small pot or pan side by side with the bigger burner.

I also saw some people pair 2 front and back induction hob with a gas stove side by side.

Would like to ask for some recommendations on the induction hob you use. Would be even better if you could attach a picture.

if it is in HDB apartment, do note the HDB limit of 15A for any appliance apart from aircon.

meaning I have only a certain number of induction hobs I can look for? Do I tell the salesmen I need a hob that with 15A or below (whatever that is)? Does it mean that if I am cooking, I cannot use other appliances like oven, microwave etc?

yes, you have to consider hobs whose power ratings are below 3.6kW, or perhaps also hobs where you can program the power draw to 3.6kW through the power managememt settings. Most HDB will have a 40A limit, so if you hob is running at full power, you only have 25A left for other electrical devices, if your aircon and oven and electric kettle are also turned on at the same time, good chance the entire DB will trip.
