They probably won't fail you even if your car jerk a bit.

But you have to change gearbox next time anyway.

For new cars purchased from C&C that still under warranty, say <5 years, if go outside do servicing, will warranty be void?

50k servicing usually do what? Coz my friend's free service credit finished, if go back, most likely will purchase package, so thinking if got alternative

You bother to come here to ask, means you have doubts.

I will tell you no, warranty won't be voided but you trust me or not, I won't know. Even if 10 people tell you no, you might not believe either.

50K servicing is same as 10,30,70K. General maintenance only. Usual eyeball checks, tightening, oil change, filter washing/replace etc.

Alternative is plenty, issue is you feel comfortable or not, if you need to ask, you probably don't feel comfy? If so, then going back to C&C might be a better case. I never owned a conti so the moment my foc servicing over, I do it outside, even if under warranty. Current car supposed to have 60K foc, I cut short to 20k, get discount off the car instead. I cannot tahan AD servicing speed & handling of my ride.

So see your comfort level.

Haha.. Thanks for ur reply, Big bro @EJB but realized u do have a lot of assumptions 😅

I'm asking only because we have never done it outside before and want to check if there are special things to take note of if service outside.

Do appreciate your sharing (if lesser of all the assumptions, would definitely be cooler 😎)

Feel free to share or PM if anyone has honest workshops that offers good workmanship/value and don't tok carrots kind to recommend, not sure if brands is an important factor when searching for a suitable workshop, but if it is, workshops that service Merc and Kia would be much appreciated. Location wise, preferably central to west, but ok with anywhere if really good. TIA 😊

I'm not a big bro, I'm just a PHV driver with a lot of time on my hands between picking up and sending passengers, just driving a cheapo Attrage for making a living. The rest makes fun of me because of my job and humble ride :(

As I don't know you and what you drive, I can only base it on assumptions and from past experience talking to similar people who came here with the same thinking/query and after several round of discussions, they are clearly uncomfy with 3rd party service providers and it was a severe waste of time talking to them saying "Outside workshops will do it just fine".

If you feel I over-assumed, then just do it outside, for faster turnaround time, cheaper and convenience. For your Merc, I think you need to approach the Merc groups, or our dear moderator who drives a merc as well. I only cheap ride, I can service anywhere without worry. I don't drive a conti and can't advise.

As for Kia, general workshops will do just fine. There are many out there. Take your pick.

Hi all, have some question about finding outside workshop.

Car is a Nissan Note, previously been serviced at TC. Upcoming will be 120k servicing. If I am going to independent WS, will the WS know what work needs to be done at 120k servicing?
I looked at the owner's manual, it tells me info like recommended EO and fluids, but I did not find more detailed servicing requirements. Maybe I didn't find the right pages.
Taking reference from Nissan SG website, https://www-asia.nissan-cdn.net/content/dam/Nissan/singapore/after-sales/services/servicing-packages/Feb2023/Nissan Saver Maintenance Package_Passenger.pdf
do I share this list with the independent WS and tell them to do everything on this list? And if so, how do I verify that they have done everything on this list?

Also noticed there is one item called "Engine Tuning with Nissan Diagnostic Computer". Is this something that only AD WS can do, or maybe certain indep WS (Nissan specialist or otherwise) also have?

Thanks in advance!

You need to ask the workshop you're intending to go and if they follow the AD's servicing manual. Only the workshops can answer you.

Outside workshop can do lah.
"Engine Tuning with Nissan DC" , basically standalone diagnostic tools which is readily available outside and almost all outside workshop have that.

My car failed the brake balancing test at first inspection (i.e. 3 years mark). One side is 40% more than the other side. I went for car inspection right after going to AD for 50K servicing. My car's actual mileage is only 41K.

I am puzzled how come AD didnt check that the brake balance is so different. Is that a safety issue?

u need to inform technician the signs and symptoms of potential problem. can go back qn them or complain. i think ur case should be able to tell from brake pad thickness delta?
