I recently got into an accident and severely injured my right hand resulting in two broken bones that required surgery. I now no longer have normal function in the hand and have yet to be called up for reservist.

Should I and how do I contact them to inform them of this injury? Will it affect my reservist? Exempted or change of vocation?

Medical review to see if you should be downgraded lor.

Prep medical memo from your specialist etc.

all NSmen has a mandatory FFI at age 35, where u can declare all these medical conditions. otherwise, u can choose to wait until u receive a call-up notice then u notify your unit via NS hotline.

however, u may choose to notify them first and this is up to u if u were not subjected to the annual IPPT. But if u are, u will need to inform them so as to obtain the appropriate excuses for IPPT.

pls answer directly on his inquiries and stop being a nuisance.

Instead of focusing on my views, why don’t you just provide your views to the person in question and that’s it?

Whatever my views is, wouldn’t and shouldn’t affect what you gonna say.

if u say so. but i m really curious what kind of life u are having. behind closed doors n infront of this forum??

Yep, if you so say too.

Well there’s a saying, “curiousity kills the cat”. You can keep guessing, but it’s probably for me to know and for you to find out. How intriguing right?

Alright that sounds good thank you. Once I have the medical memo I can just pass it to them upon being called up or is it more urgent and i should contact them immediately?

I see. As I've just completed NS last year the age 35 is quite far away from me haha. But i will probably wait until either a call up or the IPPT comes around as you mentioned. Thank you

I'm sorry to hear about your accident and I hope you recover well in time to come.

Upon ORD, IPPT liability is annual. The annual IPPT window starts one day after and ends one day before your birthday. You are required to book a slot to take and pass your IPPT within the window. If you fail the IPPT, you need to turn up for Remedial Training(RT) until you pass your IPPT. If you fail to book/turn up for your IPPT or your RT, they will charge you and you will need to go to camp to answer the charge and pay a fine.

You should get your specialist to write you a medical memo. Inform them that you need it for your SAF medical review so to detail the nature/extent of your injury and your physical impairment the next time you seem him/her. Then call the NS hotline - 1800-3676767 and tell them you had an accident and now have a medical memo to submit and need help booking a medical review. They will assist. When you get a date for your medical review, show the MO your memo and tell him about your injury and how it affects you.

Best of luck!

He's clearly a sad regular who spents all this days on this forum

lol. I’m curious by your ability to come to that conclusion. If I’m indeed a “sad” regular or a regular by any stretch, wouldn’t you find it strange that I’m still around?

There are always a worker who hate their job & openly declare to their work colleagues that he want to quit. However many years had pass & these work colleagues were no longer working for the organization but still that worker is still around in that organization.
