If post-ORD, same injury flare up again.. Can claim medical fees from Mindef?

Last time the MO said he will make a record for my condition so next time I can claim.. Really have the record? How to check?

Did you file a service injury report?

What injury is it?

Lower back pain. Worn disc.

I can't remember.. Can check wan?
Eh yea.. I guess. You don't even remember whether you fill in a report, then your boss need to appoint an investigation officer, then you need to find witness to give statement, then your boss need to approve, then send to your CO to approve, then for the relevant department to process.

do you even remb going thru such a long chain of procedure?

also if it's a permanent injury (but not permanent disability) you should have at least gotten a service injury card. seems like you don't so most likely you didn't?

Well lucky you reported to the MO and he at least got some sort of medical record on it.

Since it's retrospective, it might be more tedious and troublesome to go file a service injury record, but at least it will be easier than those who didn't report at all.

You may want to contact NS hotline and ask them to direct you to the relevant department to advise you how you should retrospectively file service injury report.

for your case, maybe call up the medical centre for ur NS unit and request appointment to see MO, then you ask him about the records and what not and how to proceed with this injury claim.

should be able to claim, but how easy or difficult, depend on your luck, as some have shared above.

Unless u went through a long chain of process and appeal.
Else along the way u will receive numerous rejection and also provided u will stand by what u wan till the settlement.
This will take u at least a year or maybe few years of draggy n constantly repeating of the same old issue.

After ord equal impossible but not that it can't ever be done.

When compare to (recently read a thread a guy who didn't report it), his record would definitely put him in a better position than the other person.

Got records is definitely not as worthless as no records

Hey man. Just wanna describe my experience to TS.

I got a knee injury (landed badly at the low ramp, under got barb wire that one) during bmt which carried on all the way to my ord. Filled in some injury form during bmt, sgt sign, I sign, then OOC after 2 weeks. But during the ord FFI, they decided to up pes me to B, from C2L2. At that time I blur blur so ok whatever.

Recently while trying to clear ippt, I experience the exact same pain again. After paying for physio and consults from my own pocket, I decided that to call mindef, see what they can do about it. Long story short, they told me they got NO records of my injury, NO records of me seeing the MO (I see him quite a number of times got some fastum(?) gel.)

So they asked who is my sgt in bmt, and who is my section buddy. How I remember **** (4-5 years ord at time of phone call to mindef.) so if can't get them to support my case, I was told it'd be no use if I file the investigation alone.

So yeah.

Every word you said is true.

Anyway I found my section buddy after some weeks after the phone call and he remembers my injury, and is also willing to support my case. However there's really too many processes and things that they need me to dig up (ie, my excuse chits from the MO from my time in bmt.) this part I gave up liao. What rubbish, they should have records.

I guess it's how much you want to sort your case out.

On hindsight, you should have been persistent, an find out what do you actually get from signing the injury form.

Sometimes ignorance is not always bliss.

You have to do a cost benefit analysis lor...

Do you think the time spent fighting for what you should be entitled to is worth more than all the medical cost you will eventually get

To be honest, if u bring ur case to higher up.
Internally things is they sort not u sort.
U only need to justify plus external medical records.
The rest is ur words vs their internal system to check n verifil n reject u.

Also must see what level ur case reach n how they wan to resolve it.
