Nowadays there are now plenty of interesting mobile data choices for travelers to Japan.

I just saw eConnect offering 2 new plans!

100MB/day 15 days 3100 JPY (S$36.80)

100MB/day 20 days 3800 JPY (S$45.20)

These are great value I think. You can have 1.5GB on the first plan and 3GB on the 2nd plan! For about the same price you pay for the bmobile visitor SIM!

Details here: https://www.econnectjapan.com/products/sim/

Hi, anyone try this service ? Can I go straight to the counter at Narita Airport and purchase it instead of ordering online ?

Thanks

its great value even you have over shot your daily quota:

128kbps after 100MB/day

128kbps should be still good enough for text whatsapp

Excellent choices, thanks for the heads up.

Have used the econnect 300kbps plan, which is essentially a Bmobile U300 plan sans the activation hassle and plus easy pickup.

do take note that econnect charges 790Yen/order for shipping. meaning regardless of number of sim in your order, you will pay 790yen.

same, deliver to airport or hotel, all charge for 790 yen. Do take note of the airport post office opening hours.

yeah, tikam tikam a bit. But being an android phone, i think the chances are very very high.

My partner will be using company phone so no need one.

I posted the qs on their facebook and they replied cannot guarantee and suggested i use their dongle...which will be more expensive although the speed is faster but I basically use it for watsapp incase me and my partner get separated.

hmmm.....

Off topic, but an interesting product for cases where you get seperated from your partner.

Like having an SMS walkie talkie.

if one party is Ok to use without worries, you can ask him or her to send sms to you phone. at least you know what's happening to him/her or how where to meet again. A bit of preparation and understanding before hand. Cheapo way. If got budget just get the sim lah.

my precaution for this (after losing one guy for an hour in Akihabara) is that we will set a particular place as the meeting point at the selected time that we will be going to the next destination.

the other way is to get a pair of walkie talkies... at peak battery strength, range is about 500m if indoors and stuff range is shorter... but it wun be that bad
