This is an older Lian-Li case, bottom mount PSU but does not have the ventilated+filtered bottom like the newer cases. The PSU will be resting on those 2 cushioned strips though, so it will still be able to take in air from below although probably limited.

Would you still mount the PSU fan facing down in this case? Or fan facing up?

Fan facing up then.....

Unless you wanna do a custom hole cut there....

One of my casing also like this, I mounted my super flower PSU with fan facing down.

TDP CPU+GPU>250W, face up
Otherwise, down.

What logic is this???

It depends on whether the PSU have space for air intake leh... Not dependant on TDP...

To TS, could you put something flat on the mounts and measure the space within?

Since intake is better facing up then why is this even a debate? Yeah I know you'll take in warm air but it won't affect the PSU all that much. Besides, it'll work as an additional exhaust.

I just realised this but since ultimately the air will be coming from inside the case because of the lack of an open bottom, what benefits are there at all with the psu facing down?

2 factors to consider, negative air pressure and warmer air.
Fan face up, means the PSU will contribute to negative air pressure that means dustier internals, unless your case have alot of positive air pressure.

Fan face down, PSU will still contribute to negative air pressure unless you made a custom hole at the bottom

Adding another factor for gold & platinum psu. Fans of these PSU are most likely stationary at idle or low load. So cool air is drawn in from the rear rather than exhaust.

Fan should face down as there is sufficient clearance below PSU to allow cool air in and prevent risk of dropping screw into PSU.

How does fan being stationery affect air being drawn/exhausted.

Install PSU last if you scared anything fall inside. Though got some clearance, don't really think is sufficient...

For TS own discrepancy.

if face up, the air is drawn in from mobo. where hot air circulates. don't think it will pose serious problems but i guess it's always good to try keep things as cool as possible.

Facing up, the efficiency of the fan as an extractor increases. That's a purely technical inference based on airflow.

Not necessary for a low power rig but may make a difference for a hot one.

Just curious. Will the casing have two sets of screw holes that allow the PSU to face either up or down?

IIRC, PSU mounting holes are assymmetric.

Welp, you can always drill your own holes to mod the chassis...

Sorry to dig, using sf leadex 1kw now.

Can't seem to find the right hole when fan is facing down and I turned and face the fan up instead, still ok right?

Just monitor ur gpu temps while gaming lor... But if the ECO mode is on, shldnt be a problem. Did u refer to the manual or just decided to give up w/o even looking at the manual?

Use your case's psu holes as reference, im sure 4 holes will appear sui sui when fan is facing up or down.

Yes now gpu fan faces psu fan. Bad idea?

Bro I never refer manual for mounting hole, only read it for cable connections (which was rather straight forward), and the mode I set to auto. Must put ECO ah?
