installing windows 7 & 10 via usb drive driver issue

hi guys,

i always seem to encounter this error whenever i try installing windows via usb. im using usb 2.0 drive and on a usb3 port. it comes out this error msg, does anyone have a clue on as to how to bypass or slipstream drivers into it?

"A media driver your computer needs is missing. This could be a DVD,USB or hard disk driver. If you have CD, DVD or USB flash drive on it, please insert it now.

Note: If the installation media for Windows is in the DVD drive or on a USB drive, you can safely remove it for this step."

however, when i create win 10 via the microsoft page using usb, it can function normally.

would appreciate guys out there who has encountered and rectify this issue.

am actually following this method now.. i even downloaded the drivers and tried to load them but failed on my previous attempt

yes i did. i even redownloaded the image from microsoft.. plus am using winusb to create a multi purpose usb, all os in 1.

Windows 7 do not have any USB 3.0 driver at all in the setup, as you need to self installed even after you complete the Windows installation completely.

Hence you need to get this USB 3.0 driver and install it before you can use the USB 3.0 port.
There is one driver which works well for me.

Use "Rufus" to Create Bootable Windows 7 Installation USB
Refer to > Windows 7: USB Windows 7 Installation Key Drive - Create option 2.

Do note that for USB keyboard and mouse, do use USB 2.0 port.

Thanks for the reply! am aware that win 7 does not come with usb3 driver. However does rufus allow me to create multiple os for installation in one usb?

thanks for the tip but won that be impractical? carrying so many usb drives for individual purpose? won it be great if can combine all into one? i intend to make a nvme usb stick once this is fixed.

Yes you can make a usb stick once this is fixed, which is different from what i had mentioned.
