Are you a NSman? If so, you will get one year free SAFRA membership and with that, you can apply for the DBS SAFRA credit card. More details here:

i applied last night. for the name that u wan to put on the card, they didnt allow me to put a space in my name. e.g. i couldnt put JOHN TAN. i cld only put JOHN or JOHNTAN. so i just went with JOHN. then my application was successful.

now i trying to book jetblue.com airline tickets using the card, the airline asked me to type the name that is on the card. i put JOHN and it says invalid becoz there must be a space in the name. so if i just put JOHN, the transaction cannot go thru. anyone had the same problem where ur name on the card is just 1 word and not 2 words?

edit: just chatted w amaze staff. they cannot change my name on the card. if apply for a new card, the name will still be JOHN. cannot be JOHN TAN. this is quite ridiculous. i just tried to buy smth on shopee with the amaze card and the name JOHN, surprisingly it went thru. Maybe it's a problem with the merchant jetblue but anyway, a word of caution to ppl who wna apply, if u face the same prob as me when u are applying (i.e. name cannot put spacing), pls dont apply. first. screenshot the error, email jetblue and ask how to proceed instead.

Very few merchants verify the name on the card. You most likely wouldn't have problems booking your airline ticket either if you entered your full name.

Have gone to Vietnam for a trip amaze, revolut and wise authorised on gojek & grqb apps and working in singapore ... however in Saigon neither Amaze or Revolut is working on Grab and not able to be added to gojek, just wise seems to be ok and allow transactions. Geez this was kinda what they were designed to do. Both blaming the mechant as usual but realistically it is some authorisation issue they are not interested in solving

I know and i have haha... Ill let you into a secret it works directly at merchants resturants etc the issue seems to be these apps requiring validation. i am not singaporean so simple things don’t trip me up but thanks for the effort. I should hve realised someone would rush in and say that and prempt it with a full disclosure sorry. This posting is more as a warning to others not to rely on just one card if you going to go down this travel card multicurrecy track cause really there is no suppoort or care and the things is all a bit hit and miss ... Oh and before you say, i have also opened cross boarder transactions for one of the underlying credit cards too and have had quite the play around. The cards are simply not working on grab in vietnan (gojek too) which kinda sucks. I am trying to raise it to grab vietnam (who seem to use something called moca to hadle their stuff) to see what they have to say but it is weird how wise works and the others don’t

I have the same issue when in VN. The issue lies in the way Grab handle the payment verification. The Grab support team in VN (Moca) told me that the SG payment gateway is prioritized over VN gateway. So you have to write in to their support, wait for them to deactivate the SG gateway, remove the card and add the card in again. When you see the pre-authorisation charge is VND1,000 (not 1 SGD) then you know it is successful. Can refer to FAQ here.
