guess I have to wait for my Citi Premiermiles Visa card to be changed to MC later this year.


Can I double check that if I use the amaze / premiermiles card, I will still earn the foreign spending miles from citi? wondering how Citibank knows it's spending at foreign merchant as Amaze is sending the payment to Citi directly.

No, once you link the card to amaze, foreign currency will be converted to local, so no points earned.

Benefit is that it converts all transactions to online, so cards that earn points for online spending will obviously be the top choice to be paired with amaze. That and no foreign exchange fees and 1% cashback on top of the underlying card's benefits. Of course, that was all in the past. Some changes were made to nerf amaze, so you're a bit late to join

I got the card for a long time but didn't use cos I only had one MasterCard (posb everyday).

Can link Citi rewards mastercard to Amaze, use Amaze to get 4mpd and 0.5%/1% Amaze rebate for local/foreign spend. Amaze convert everything to local online spend, no forex fees.

So for the amaze card is really to cut Forex fee and earn cashback, but if wanna earn miles, still better to pay directly with miles card.

If link to citi rewards mastercard can earn 4mpd on everything $1k spend monthly so long mcc not excluded. Better than pay direct with miles card.

Can I confirm if we tag a mastercard to Instarem , when we buy for groceries or dine abroad, will the mastercard detect the spend as groceries and dining , and award the cashback based on the respective type of spend, or will the mastercard just detect the spend as a general spend?

Also, if the mastercard does not belong to you but to another person who allows you to tag it to your Instarem card, is it ok to use it, ie is it legal to use it?

I will be traveling overseas in Jun. Is there any activation to be done for Amaze for overseas transactions? Also at Citibank rewards card, is there any activation other than the magnetic strip. But these days I think no country uses magnetic strip any more.

Anyone getting a problem with Amaze this morning (early 22 May) where the purchase would be declined by merchant, but the underlying card still got charged for the transaction?

I am swiping physically at a place that I usually use Amaze at with no issues, so it's not a case of MCC that hasn't been whitelisted.

Hope they proactively reverse the transactions since I tried a few times, and my available limit has been eaten up by the failed transactions.

cannot link prepaid cards to Amaze

I linked my standard revolut master card to amaze just to see if i could … cause my premium and metal revoluts are visa cards. It is prepaid? I figured if amaze sort out their fx i could perhap use it during the weekend to avoid heir revolut’s weekend 2% but still flow transactions to revolut. I have gotten to point where i only want amaze to face very low credit limits cause dealing withe them is nuts. Overall i prefer revolut it just works better.
