Comp Overheating again

Hi guys,

So previously I had issues with comp overheating, and I discovered it to be due to heatsink/thermal grease issue. So I fixed that after replacing thermal grease. Works well for a while, then comp refuse to turn on. I got fed-up and bought a new system. Replaced everything but the graphics card. Now I have issues with graphics card overheating.

See below. This is only after 30 minutes of Sleeping Dogs (FPS game). Probably not an issue with dust because PC Themes just fixed up this new comp 3 days ago. Seriously regretted getting both the first and second system from PC Themes. Nothing has been going right since Day 1.

Anyone has any idea how this can be fixed?

Heat Sink?

Hi fock,

Thanks for your advice. Sorry but I'm a little noob. Which is the heatsink and what should I be getting? I told Yilong from PC Themes that I previously had problems with overheating and need something better to cool it down, but he said this configuration is fine. So apparently he is wrong.

I'm gonna go back and do some exchanges. Can you advise what I should ask them to change. Not gonna ***** pay anything else. They better not tell me my graphics card is damaged, and I need to get a new one. Seriously pissed off.

You gotta pay for an after market heat sink. Thats for sure. But you dont have to get a very high end one. After market heat sink + new thermal grease confirm will solve your over heat problem.

Need to keep in mind that the over heat problem could be due to casing air flow problem, not because of stock heat sink.

could the high temp on the graphics card be due to other issues? PC Themes is asking me to haul the entire CPU back for a diagnosis. That's crazy troublesome.

If we can be sure that it's just the graphics card, then I'll just bring that down.

Thanks!
