hey guys, my mum got an insurance w Prudential for quite awhile already (21 years). Apparently there’s a rider in the policy that covers CI. She was recently diagnosed with cancer and can (potentially) get a 100k payout.
However, this insurance is managed by Agent A but after my sister asked questions about this policy with Agent B of the same company; Agent B became very keen to take charge of this case/claim.

Is there anything that we should be worried about? Agent B has many years of experience whereas Agent A has a few. Any advice and things that we should be wary about?

Agents don't make money by processing claims.

BUT, If your mothers case is straight forward, it will be easy for her to score brownie points with you and your Sister. Both of you are his real targets......

Agents earn commission when you buy products through them.

if Agent B is keen to take over claims processing for you, he/she is trying to gain a foothold into Agent A's clients. This is land-grabbing and is understood to be a no-no in the agents' world...

But it will not affect you in any way.

Just curious, when we transfer the policies to new agent, do they earn from the yearly premium we are paying? My new agent says no.

Generally speaking, no we dont.

But i have encountered cases where we can get commission but it is only for the recurrent commission, estimated around 2 - 8%. Applies for Hospitalization coverage.

Just curious, when we transfer the policies to new agent, do they earn from the yearly premium we are paying? My new agent says no.
