Integrated Graphic to support 1440p

Hi everyone, recently my GPU has died on me and now I am using my on board graphic (Intel HD4600) for my current monitor (DELL U2414H). I am planning to get a new 1440p monitor (DELL P2421D) to set up DUAL monitor through my motherboard (ASRock B85M Pro4) - U2414H connect to VGA (using an adapter ) and P2414D connect to HDMI.



However, I found out that my motherboard (ASRock B85M Pro4) does not support 1440p. It only support...

- Supports HDMI Technology with max. resolution up to 1920x1200 @ 60Hz
- Supports D-Sub with max. resolution up to 1920x1200 @ 60Hz

But Intel HD4600 actually DO support up to 4k.

So is there any ways (for e.g. getting an adapter or changing the bios setting???) that I can make my motherboard support 1440p on the new monitor through HDMI, while retaining connect my current monitor through VGA (1080p)???

I am not intending to get a new GPU as I do not game.

A new GPU can be cheaper than a new board. Get a cheap 1030 with display port and use that .

Getting GPU is not = to gaming. The problem is that the limitation is on the HDMI standard used on this board, so there is no walk around apart from getting a cheap graphic card to provide the monitor support, or just run the 1440p monitor at 1080p instead.

you do know that 1440p on a 24inch is very hard to tell the diff right?
1440p is best for 27"-31". Below that 1080p is almost the same in visual quality.

I have a bad experience with 2nd hand GPU before so I wont consider that option.

GT710 or R5 230 is like 60-70 dollars in lazada

they both have HDMI 1.4a and DVI-D dual link

Just get a cheap gpu will do. The cheapest you can find. Hdmi 1.4 will do fine for 1440p 60hz.

add intel custom resolution. i used to have hd4000 and could use 4k

To be honest, you don't have to buy a GPU if you don't want to. Just stick to whatever resolution/ refresh rate that the port can support. 1080P is not a bad resolution anyway.

I do suspect you can run it at 1440p, though you need to lower the refresh rate from 60hz to something like 48hz or lower. The HDMI standard used on this board may not have enough bandwidth to support 1440p at 60Hz. After all, the board is quite old, so no surprise its one of the earlier HDMI standard.
