Simply put it this way...

Its not about gaming, its not about the processing power.
Its the right to brag, the right to own one.

Same analogy, buying lambo aventador to drive in SG roads?
No you buy it simply to show it off and the ability to have 1.

erm... not really... simulations can be very intense, i rather have more cores than being much faster.

this cpu can be slower but it has the potential to play and work at the same time.

i only say that a budget mobo also can be used to play games. pairing with gaming mobo is for its features and better power phase nia...

so unless u want to OC?

whats the point of getting gaming mobo?

somemore this cpu is meant for workload anyway.

That's my point. Why get this CPU for gaming? You get a 'gaming' mobo to go with a 'gaming' CPU. The previous poster asked what is stopping one from getting this CPU for gaming. My response is that without a matching mobo, this is not going to help with games much.

Like you, my own usage preference for this CPU is simulation e.g. Calibration of interest rate models, valuation of portfolio of options, computing CVA exposures etc.

the point is, maybe i could run simulations and play game at the same time? rather than just dedicate a pc to run simulation and cant do anything else loh.
