It is overkill as well as over priced for most consumers. If you need more cores and thread, perhaps a simple R7 1700 should be more than enough. It is also significantly more affordable.

It has no use for me. My most cpu intensive apps are just games. I dont think any game need 18 cores or quad channel to run. So no point.

hi guys, im willing to sell my kidney to fund for this processor. as i need a high end cpu to do....things. kidney condition - used for many years, maybe internal damages here and there but does not hinder daily activities(usually). can probably work for another 60yrs or so, or less. warranty 1 week. if spoil after warranty, can exchange for other kidney(similar condition), limited stocks, if exchanged kidney fails, then you can opt to exchange with a ear or tongue. thanks.

I9 for an ordinary man like me, can't afford. Unless you are like manager and above. Does more cores and threads will make the system and game to run faster? For my case I would get I5 7770,hdd reuse and new 500gb, gtx 1060 and internal dvdrw.
