Core i5 9600K is 6 cores 6 threads.

Do you mean 9900K which is 8 cores 16 threads? That one is priced differently.

Just get a AMD ryzen 3700X combo. You do not need to speed so much on the motherboard.

yeah i was thinking the same thing.. intel out of fashion.. anyway does anyone have a ryzen build to reco?

If you got the time, youtube has the recommendations. The words are 'AMD ryzen 3000 series'.

For me I am going for Ryzen 3600 cpu chips which is value for money. If your friend wants the high end AMD chip it would be Ryzen 3900x and in Sep Ryzen 3950x.

I'd look at:

Asus x470 Prime with 3700x: 760ish
Coolermaster 212x: 55ish
G.Skill 16GB (2x8GB 3200): 140ish (cheaper if bought overseas)

Get an Adata m.2 1TB

Then the rest goes into GPU, secondary storage, PSU, casing, monitors, etc.
