Still crap...... no matter what they say.

Before the TIM removal, I tried running OCCT at 4.6GHz 1.28V..... Cannot even run properly. It will stop running because temp exceed treshold of 85C. After I delid, apply the Liquid Pro, temp drop to 73C max instantly. Ran for 6hrs non-stop no issues.

So much for their next gen stuff......:s13:

Anyway, Haswell oc sucks. My CPU not very good, need 1.4V to hit 4.8GHz stable (use OCCT to test). 4.6GHz need 1.25V..... So much more heat for just 200MHz..... forget it.

Mine 4770K worse. need 1.2V to stable 4.2GHz...
The joy of overclocking Intel CPUs are diminishing..

I wondered what TIM does AMD use in their processors and if it is any good?

Yes, its the same for their APU. Only the FX is solder.

I don't understand why they don't use good tim like liquid pro instead..... Save us the hassle of deliding the CPU...

Liquid pro can dry up very fast if it is not well cooled. If outside is still using the stock fan, it will be cool for a couple of months. Once keep it on load for a couple of months down the road, usually it will dry up very fast.

If it is well maintain and cooled such as the using it for WC, then yes Liquid Pro do last longer.

Delidding better to use liquid pro instead of other pastes?

In a sense, as it can give better temps as compared to other TIM like mx4. But take note that it is conductive. So i think the spread method is better than the pea method. At least you know that it wun spill out of the IHS and get in contact with other metal parts. Thin layer would do.

I think I'll just use my Gelid-Extreme. Since I no need such good paste for my 4570.. :s22:
