Yeah. One thing it sucks is, live data isn’t free. You need to subscribe to it under “user settings”

saying that a few people who withdrew got charged with USD$10 in addition to SGD$10 unless you are treasures than the SGD$10 got waived.
Oh. Interesting. Did they withdrawal more than once in a month? IBKR has an incentive where you can do first withdrawal per month for free.
I seriously did not get hit with any fees.

Just received the email below. Both IB LLC and IB SG will eliminate the monthly inactivity fee.

Dear Client,

While many of our clients actively trade or maintain substantial equity in their account, we have decided to eliminate our monthly inactivity fee so there are no impediments to maintaining an account with IBKR.

What are some examples of "everything else"?
You've mentioned that GST is one, and I know that Interactive Brokers LLC's customers' assets are also protected by the SIPC for up to $500k.
I compared the transaction fees between the global and Singapore site, and they look almost identical.

I believe they are identical sans there’s GST. For SG.
I believe for sg, there are also fewer currencies you can deposit if you want to deposit other currencies.
Yes, that's right. Someone in this forum complained about not being able to deposit Australian dollars into an Interactive Brokers Singapore Pte. Ltd. account. The U.S. entity supports more deposit currencies.

But the big one for some people is that the U.S. account allows you to access whole markets that the Singapore account does not. For residents of Singapore, the SGX is the only market that IB Singapore opens up. And personally I think that's less interesting since FSMOne, as one example, is pretty good at SGX access in a low cost way.

This is mostly a moot issue since it's at least difficult to open an IB U.S. account from Singapore now. However, if you happen to have an IB U.S. account and are happy with it, I don't think there's any compelling reason to move. And there might be some reasons not to move. At the very least you'll save a bit of GST on every commission.
