Interested to upgrade(?) or get new PC.

Hi there, not too sure if this is the correct forum to post on but I'm thinking of upgrading my current pc or getting a new one.

I'm currently on an i7 6700 with H170 Pro Gaming, GTX970, GSkill (not sure which, probably 2400?) 8GBx2 and HyperX Kingston ddr4-2333 8GBx2 Ram (iirc, but i know it's 32gb) and Superflower 550W Leadex Platinum, CM N200 casing.

I've 2 SSDs 250gb and 2 HDDs at 1TB each. (might wanna just get new storage devices)

I'm aiming to play red dead redemption 2 that was just released, also interested to play cyberpunk when it's out (hopefully at high or max settings). I'm not too fussy as I mainly only play on 1080p, might want to have a second screen(not playing games with dual screen, just using the other to browse chrome etc while game is loading on main screen)

Any inputs on what I should do or where should I go from here? Would be great if someone could point me to someone who could do a transfer if any of my parts could be used in the newer upgrade and also a rough gauge on how much it would cost.

1080p ? Just upgrade the GPU will be sufficient.

^^^ this. For 1080p, GTX 1070 or equivalent will suffice.

I'm curious because I might want to upgrade to a RTX 2070 Super but the wattage says recommended 650W, would I need to upgrade my current PSU or would the 550W suffice? Also to add on, my casing is a little cramp and I have a feeling the 2070 might not be able to fit into my current casing

Can try looking for the itx version of 2070 super. Like the gigabyte GeForce RTX™ 2070 MINI ITX 8G.

If you don't intend to keep the card more than 2~3 years, can consider 2060 super instead. It should run just fine on 550w.

It's enough (i keyed your specs into cooler master calculator and got 472W). And your psu is tier 1 quality too.

2070S is extremely overkill, but an awesome choice if you are moving to 1440p monitor soon
