Was interested in this so did some research before my trip last Dec. I checked mainly those more famous, established one like 薇阁. Basically each room got individual theme, so is very special.

But the booking process put us off. We can't pre-book a room. Most of them don't accept reservation (预约), you can only walk-in. So, it is not easy to get the room of them that you like. To get a room overnight, you can only check-in after a certain time in the evening (can't remember clearly, should be like 7pm or later). Any time before is only for short-time. It is not convenient for us, so we gave up the idea. But, it should be a very very interesting experience.

I just took a look at the 薇阁 website again, 薇閣精品旅館.

They call overnight 住宿, 12 hours, shorttime is 休息 (per 2-hour base). They have many themes. Overnight can only check in after 6pm on weekdays, and after 10pm on weekends and PH. This is based on 1 of the branches only. I think different branch got different pricing, timing, ect. This chain got 5 branches around Taipei.

Wow, those seem more ex right?

I heard from my friend that there's the not so classy and ex kind but she has forgotten which one she stayed in as it was arrange by the tour package.

Any are I can look out for (to walk in and find out more) and that's not so sleazy kind?

i stayed before @ wego motel,consider quite cheap
3500NT included breakfast buffet ,can reserved & choose the room that you want but no gurantee that you can get it,but they said will try their best to reserve that room

汽车旅馆, or motel, u can drive in, and register when you r inside your car, no need to come out, supposingly more privacy, or something like that.

U can go to wego website to check out, they got all the themes listed there.

then is there any motels with more interesting themes like swinging beds etc?
