new manager hire for a new business dept is giving his 5cent on accounting
keep pushing for new accounting system which is none of his problem, not even in his job scope
accounting did not ask to change accounting system, he did.
accounting went for course on new system, came back feedback new system is not really suitable.
function in old system not in new one, need more work to get things done or in some case cannot be done at all.

accounting almost went ballistic.... you change this system will affect me, it does not affect you and you're telling me it is my problem for not wanting the new system, just because you want to use it sometime then you want to change the system ( current one he cannot use or dun know how to use ) but i am the one using it 95% of the time.
new system does not make her life any easier
only good thing is the new accounting system is .... more modern, better UI, simpler to use

I thought any migration of new system shd be carefully review, approve by hq, by color, by IT hods.
And whether sufficient budget for new system to be integrated.

Maybe ask the proposer what is in for the stakeholders. Like TS say benefits.
The new UI might only affect a few individuals like big boss see graphics nice nice but generate too much
work for workers.

Last time I tried to push for OEE in my workplace and showed it can monitor process in
real time. It improves the manufacturing process. Results are instant. Very attractive to managers but ultimately due to brainrot, they use back the old QR Digital system. This case is opposite to that of yours.

If the new system work against you need to quantify how much it affects your efficiency and sound out to the management. Any system, it is better to come up by your own dept. Cos u will know the pain of daily workload and how to get automation to relief it. If exposure is an issue, managers should send personnel on course and bring back a viable solution. Not let a noob design something meant for another department or field

XERO yes Ui nicer and can link bank accounts etc but it is not user friendly imo...
