I served NS 2.5 years. But now then know

After BMT
Attend OCS: 5-10%
Attend SCS: 20-30%
Enlistees (Men): 60-70%

1 cohort year has : approx 17,000 male enlistees.

For OCS:
OCT >> 2LT >> LTA

For SCS:
SCT >> 3SG >> 2SG

For Men:
PTE >> PFC >> LCP >> CPL >> CFC

My knowledge is confined to this:

In my unit, very few remained as PTE ,even my PC runner (think OC runner too)

Either way, he's still stuck in his Guards unit. So leader or not, he'll still go through GCC.

Thread should say saf ns nia, those stat is not applicable to ns in home team. Ocs for them likely divide by a factor of 100. Even in reserve units saf officers can be pushed to home team.

Ultimate chaogeng plan:

1) Sign on to be pilot
2) Take regular pay while training
3) Cannot clear basic wing in Australia ‘cause failure rate is high (By then 10-12months would have passed; you’ll have taken around 6-8 months of regular but trainee salary)
4) Probably posted to some admin position ‘cause you are neither here nor there
5) 9-5 everyday
6) ORD lo!

I read that non guards commanders do not need to go through Guards Conversion Course. Only SCS or OCS grads posted to Guards have to

interesting, always thought getting to LCP was a given as long as you finish BMT

Ya correct la, but your son is most likely "bonded" to his Guards unit and not going anywhere else, so whether or not he becomes a commander, he'll still go through it.

Even the CK warriors in our combat coy all became LCP at the very least by the end of their NSF life. Ppl who didn't manage to pass IPPT also eventually got their CPL rank, just slightly later than the rest of us.
