Intermitten auto restart

Hi, my PC will intermittently restart by itself when play online game and desktop installed game, the best part is it mostly happened only evening time, during day time very very hardly it will restart. I just wonder what can it wrong, Google around, some said ram, some said psu or graphic card, can anyone help ? I had send back to the sls shop that I purchased but the shop claimed nothing wrong...

to add on at first I am using Win10 then got this issue after about 1.5 years of using this pc, then i downgrade to win 7 but still having same issue

Could it be due to the Meltdown and Spectre fix that is causing this problem?

Come to think of it, I had a similar issue where the system will crash when I game. It is pretty random and may not happen for my case. In the end, it turns out that the CPU was faulty and I had to send it back for RMA.

If it is happening everytime, PSU may be one possibility since load power requirement will surge and the PSU cannot keep up.

For now, test part by part first. Try using only one stick of ram each time to see if the issue occurs, if not then check using integrated graphics to see if it is something to do with the graphic card, etc...

mine is happen randomly too, I will tried with one ram at a time, as for the integrated graphics card , I did tried before but strange that the integrated graphic wont work, dont know why, may be I will try again. thanks

may i ask what do you mean when it don work? it does not boot, no display? ensure that your dedicated graphic card is taken out before you test on integrated graphics.

yes I had remove my dedicated graphic card and it does not boot, no display

just try set to peg, still cannot boot up when using integrated graphic card. and when plunged in dedicated graphic card with setting peg, the PC cannot boot up too, I have to reset the bios to default then the system can boot up.

As for the Ram test, both ram tested also reboot, one thing is if with just one ram the reboot is faster then when two ram in the system.

I guess have to make a trip down to SLS and look for nigel :s22:
