Intermittent freezing on new system

Hi all, I just built a new system as shown in my profile, i get 5 seconds of freezing (mouse and keyboard not responding screen freezes) every now and then. I tried reseating my ram, increasing the virtual memory, disabling c-states in bios, but the problem still persists. This is not the 1st time that I have built a pc (built more than 20 pc at least), but this is the 1st time i encounter such problem. Does anyone knows what is the issue?

Try resetting CMOS and remove its battery?

might want to try to update bios and see if it works?

yeah, gpu driver is downloaded straight from nvidia website.

i tend to not like to touch bios update unless necessary, but will try tonight when i'm home from work.

What CPU temps are you getting? The freezing happens at idle (watching videos/movies, surfing net)? or during gaming?

If you suspect ram, download MemTest86 to test.

i didn't check temps, but it get it randomly, be it idle on boot, watching streams, or gaming. If its temps, i will get a lot in games, but its like once or twice in like 2hr thereabouts?

check for virus/malware?

also, try disconnecting all your drives except for the main OS. and then slowly plug back in one by one till the intermittent hanging appears.. might be a possible chance of failure drive..

ah, this might be it too. I have 2 hdd and 2 ssd.

That time I faced this issue.

Found out that is because I just re-applied thermal paste to my cpu.

Few weeks later, the issue is gone.

maybe the thermal paste not applied properly, i can reapply it though.

It's more frequent when browsing
I suspect Win10/Chrome

Update: I downloaded a monitoring software, my cpu temps are ok, but my hdd temps are ridiculously high. like 50-60 degrees. I figure that the front of the casing doesn't really have much airflow except for the vents at the side, and i don't have a fan to draw more air from the vents to pass through the hdds. I have disconnected the hdds and it seems to be better. Going get some more fans later and monitor. Thanks everyone for their help.

Update 2: Its ridiculous how just 1 casing fan blowing at the hdd work wonders. Temps have drop to 30+ from 50+ degrees. Now will check if there is still freezing or not.
