Any parents of Singaporean nationality sent your child to study at international school ? Eg GESS ( German European School Singapore)

Did you get an approval from MOE ?

What made you decide to send your child to an international school instead of a local school ?

Do you think the learning experience was better for your child ?

I don't think sinkies can attend international school in SG.

At least not at Primary level because it is mandatory.

I have a friend who attended international school after O-lvl.

So long as you have approval from MOE. The question is what are the reasons acceptable to MOE.

There are more Singaporean nationality in SJI international. You do not need approval if you enrol your child from Grade 7 onwards. Most parents who can afford prefer international schools as the child has time to be more creative and the students learn to be more independent. Students usually will be going overseas for their tertiary education so the exposure to the international scene will start earlier. Each child has their own unique experience so you can't be sure if the experience is better. If you want your child to have more space and creativity, I would suggest trying international school. Hope this helps.

Its mandated - All Singaporean children must attend National Schools.

"Requirement for Allied Education" is not an excuse anymore (last time people used this excuse to siam National Schools) since all Teachers in MOE National Schools are Allied Education trained or had been through Allied Education training.

The oft used excuse before was "National Schools do not have Allied Education Programme or Allied Education Trained Teachers."

That was used like more than 15 years ago when all parents need to do is to go the usual specialist route to "chao keng" a piece of letter.

The loophole was closed (The legend goes that - supposedly by someone 'pretty high up' who used that same "excuse", got his child into an international school and then sealed up the loophole AFTER his child gained admittance) many many years ago.

Forget it, many parents in the past who can afford it, would have explored all the different 4D combinations trying to strike the lottery to get their children into those schools.

In my opinion, all parents are worried about stress factors for their children. No choice, either you follow MOE way, or the highway to foreign schools in foreign countries.

Alot of family from PRC "shipped" their child to OZ to further their education because the stress factors.
