My laptop is about 3 years old and it has only basic software inside (Windows 10) and is used mainly for watching streaming movies and dramas shows only.

However, recently there was an issue that any window that was opened or any website that was opened, it will auto scroll to the bottom and will get stuck there.

Initially thought it was due to virus but when did a virus scan there was nothing and since it was a basic laptop i reformated it again.

However, after reformating the issue still persist intermittently. At times, hitting the space bar helps but sometimes nothing can be done.

Any advise?

Thanks in advance.

Check if the arrow down button on your KB is been pressed (or intermittently been pressed)? Or even the space bar?

Hardware issue. Try bashing on the spacebar or arrow down button repeatedly to see if the issue stops

Most likely build in mouse problem. Try double tapping on the laptop mouse. Should solve it.
Tried that but still have that issue.

use another browser. happens on my work pc too
Tried it on multiple different browsers, but issue still persists.

The issue will stop for awhile, and come back again intermittently.

In this case, would you advise to get it repaired? Or will the repairs cost too much and is not worth it?

Thanks for all the advise so far!

Are you currently using any wireless/wired mouse?
If you are, disconnect/unplug it and check if the issue still persist. I recently had this issue all of a sudden, but turn out it was my Bluetooth mouse's scroll wheel malfunctioned...

If not using and only have a touch pad, go to your laptop manufacturer website and download the latest touchpad driver, try uninstall the touchpad driver temporary and see if the issue go away. Do remember to use a mouse for this test...

If it does go away, then install the driver back and test again...
