Hi all,

I am thinking of starting out to do my own investments. Been reading on bonds, ETF, mutual funds, unit trusts. However, I am not too sure of which platform to use and the charges. There are ifast, poems, UOB Kayhian or go through banks. What are the difference especially the charges etc? Anyone has the breakdown or can explain how it works?

Thanks!

For long term investment use scb, lowest commission charges and no other fees both for local and overseas. No other broker can beat it for buying local stocks cheaply due to the commission. The foreign currency exchange rate is bad though. Simplified UI to do buy/sell and stop loss orders only.

For Overseas, can try Interactive brokers. Cheap brokerage with excellent currency conversion rate and a sophisticated UI to do almost anything you need.
