Hi.. I have an exasperating problem which I hope someone can help me solve it. I'm a non-techie but have been trying to resolve this problem for quite awhile, searching and reading up any articles on the net for solution.

I have a Iomega ix2 200 NAS which I attached to the router.

But I always encounter the problem where the NAS becomes not detectable or reachable once I have it on for 3-5mins and I have to reboot the NAS ever so frequently.

Attached to a different router. Same problem.

Change cable. Change to a different LAN port. No luck.

The firmware is current.

I've experiment with attaching the NAS to the laptop. Same problem but it lasted longer before becoming unavailable.

Another problem is that when it goes to sleep, it can't wake up, contrary to what is written in the manual. You have to reboot it. Though in this instance the event log did not show that that an unusal event has taken place. Probably because the disk power down after 15mins. ???

What would seems to be the problem? Did I set anything wrong??

Much appreciate any assistance.

Horrible product for me as it has a horrible software.

I faced similar problem like you. After 6 months of email with their engineers I exchanged my product for a 2TB external harddisk.

That's the best solution.
