IOS 11 Public Beta — [Same build as GM]

Took the plunge and installed the public beta. Despite all the negative comments online, it turned out quite well.

Had to repair my Apple watch though. And DBS app crashes on launch.

Anyone with other issues?

Installed iOS 11 pb on my iPhone 6s+

Closing apps on the multitasking isn’t stable. Sometimes the app isn’t closed and will come back when you tap on the blank areas.

Removing passwords/fingerprints from settings will cause the settings app to crash. The item will be removed still.

When you restart your phone on LPM, it will take the phone a few minutes after rebooting to turn back to LPM. Triggering LPM in CC/settings before that will cause the phone to hang.

Not sure if intentional but 3D Touch to invoke multitasking pane does not work in iOS 11.

Otherwise, I like iOS 11 a lot. The new CC is awesome. The new animations are faster. And for some reason I’m getting better battery life in iOS 11 pb compared to 10.3.2. Btw, please also file bug reports to apple, and with screen recording it’s a lot easier to do so.

Just installed on my iPod touch and I found that you cant reset your device using "Erase all Contents and setting".

Just a word of caution. I like it a lot but be prepared that some apps will not work.

OCBC works but DBS and UOB crashes on launch. Citibank works too.

My photos also disappeared, which gave me a scare. But came back gradually when they are downloaded from iCloud. Shd not be like this for upgrade. For photos, it feels more like when you restore from backup. Rest of files remain intact.

Haha yes. Which is why I kept my iOS 10.3.3 backup just in case things fail totally

I suspect they removed it as contradicts one of the iPhone 8 features

I can say that the public beta is more stable now as compared to the developer beta. Still, I won't recommend trying it with daily driver unless you can afford some down time and inconsistency.

Deep press the edge of your phone to activate he multi tasking thou iOS 11 has removed this and I think they only introduced this in iOS 10

Many in the Reddit forum have emailed apple to request for it to be reinstated.

Anyway it is still a beta so nothing is 100% firmed yet

I can say that the public beta is more stable now as compared to the developer beta. Still, I won't recommend trying it with daily driver unless you can afford some down time and inconsistency.

I am using it for my only phone now. Other than some resets when accessing notification centre and some apps which crashes, the phone works great. Feels faster and more responsive than iOS 10.3.3

As mentioned, probably because it isn’t suited for use in the upcoming iPhone where it’s heavily rumoured to have super thin bezels.

I'm using Developer Beta 3. Fixed a lot of issues that were in Public Beta 1.

But POSB app still broken. Sian

PB2 is out. Finally can close apps properly, music toggle in cc now brings you to the app when you tap it, animations stutter less and battery life is better.

One bug encountered so far is 3D touching a notification in the lock screen will cause it to stay on the lock screen until you restart. Screen recording is somehow more buggy than in PB1.

Giant volume HUD appears in ProTube for no reason.
