That is 3D Touch. It was removed in iPhone 11 Pro Max. Now can only move the cursor only if you hard press on spacebar.

No need to hard press. Just hold and you can move the cursor. Or with iOS 13, moving cursor with your finger is much easier than before.

I guess it’s easier with 3D Touch since fingers already on e keyboard liao.

iOS 13 makes moving the cursor easier but that doesn’t mean it can totally replace 3D Touch. Besides, 3D Touch does not only apply to the cursor. You can do way more things easily with 3D Touch.

the 3d touch 'peek and pop' feature is effectively gone on ios 13 on iphone XS max. now similar to press and hold, not pressure sensitive at all. what use is there now for the 3d touch sensitivity settings in accessibility..
