To get the original notification sounds to work .. I took the original, renamed it to a different name and put it back into iTunes as a "new custom" Tone ... then I synced and used the new one .. works fine

Yep, that's a workaround.
7.1 seems like refinement update.

Much snappier (I started with scratch and DFU update) and after Reduce Motion everything has the fade effect ... previously even with it on, the multitasking windows used to fly in .. now they fade as well

Dark keyboard also effects pre-iOS7 keyboard in Apps like Whatsapp ... the background became black instead of blue (see attached)

Sharing to iCloud popup used to be jerky, smooth as well ... I think they have done lot of backend cleanup and refinement for smoother UI

The dark keyboard is still buggy. We still can't interrupt the animations.
Overall yes, 7.1 seems to be the 7.0 Apple wanted to release back then. Much improvements.

No leh. Didn't do fresh install.. Restoring my data from a new phone is a killer with so many apps inside..

Guess I'll reset all settings and do the backup, then restore to new iPhone AND THEN load back my data just to play save over the weekends.

I always start fresh on new First Betas or release versions ... so 7.1 is fresh

Original notification sounds seem to be working for me. Directly updated to 7.1 Beta 1 from 7.0 GM

I guess it's taste. I personally love the new iBooks theme. Lesser skeuomorphism. Better modern interface.
