Not entirely so. TouchPad does not have a display and it is a lot thicker. In fact, I hate touch pad so much that I rather use the trackpoint (famous from IBM ThinkPad) which also has pressure sensing to determine acceleration of cursor and other functionality like clicking.
Twisting finger on a trackpoint was also a bad idea, much like blackberry thumb.
Toshiba notebooks also has it.
