This is what i know... u only signed in to iCloud and it increased to 1.7gb ? Or can u recall doing anything else?

Basically, anything stored on your iDevice that cannot fit into one of those 8 categories is categorized as "Other." This includes:


Browser cache
Mail cache
Mail messages
Mail attachments
Safari's Reading List
iTunes Backups
Crud resulting from jailbreaking your iDevice
Game data
Saved data files
Call history
Notes
Media
Voice memos

It's one of the frustration im facing while using 16gb as well. I don't like the fact that I have to constantly check if I have enough storage for my usage or not. I'm considering switching to 128gb. If that one goes full as well, then there's nothing I can say.

Hi Guys,

using a iphone 6 16gb and can't help to notice my others storage is always around 1.7gb to 2gb.

so i did a fresh new restore and it showed 600mb. Then I login icloud on my device and it increase to 1.7gb again.

why is icloud using so much space? Note I have not installed any app or music yet.

anyone experiencing the same thing?

1.7 not bad liao, there were times I had 3-4gb for 'others'.

Performing backup and restore takes up lots of time. I use icleaner but may not be thorough too.
