Maybe? I personally wouldn't have bought it if not for my spare phone failing. I prefer to not see everyone using the same device as me but it's been pretty easy to sport new devices around if you pay enough attention. I've personally seen a few regular 7s around, not so much 7+ yet, but that is likely due to shortage in supply rather than demand.

Reason been so is the flipper are hogging all the stock making the real user having difficulty in getting the phone.
Also as a real user , they do not need to get the phone fast at a high price.
A lot was also delay by last few years waiting , the delay just snowballed and ppl are recontracting at a later date than previous years.
