can iPads sent and receive SMSs? i'm testing it out but nothing gets sent out or even receives.

Not on its own.

However, if you have an Iphone in your home ecosystem, your IPad can send and receive SMSs via the mobile number of your Iphone.

Hi peeps! I am thinking of getting an ipad mini. A quick look at Shopee/Lazada, based on the 5.5 sale, ipad air is going at lesser than ipad mini. That's insane! Does it even make sense to get an ipad mini now? Or should I wait for the May 7 event and monitor the price adjustments, if any? Or should i just get the ipad air?

Reason for getting ipad mini is the form factor. I will be using it mainly for youtube, social media, surfing net, and e-book (I feel ipad air would be overkill for such uses).

If you are ok with android, suggest consider android tablet. For the usage scenario you mentioned, no need ipad

Alternatively, wait for ipad mini 5 refurbished set to appear on official apple website, bought one for about $500 previously

Tbh, I am not looking at android as I am familiar with the apple OS. Haven't used android phones before too.
How are your experience with refurbished set like? Are there alot of visible scratches? Any parts not working after some time of uses?
