My recommendation is always to avoid screen protectors and just buy AppleCare. So far I had only 1 incident after using so many models. Some clowns knocked onto me and the screen hit some debris. It causes a small scratch. Other time I dropped few times and nothing happens
That's why I use a screen protector.

That is why must buy applecare
Did you ever read the conditions?
"Accidental damage isn’t covered by the Apple warranty."

CORRECTION UPDATE:
As pointed out by @GotBetrayed, accidental damage is covered only by AppleCare+ (not the default Apple warranty bundled with the device which I read and quoted). But the issue with scratches is that it is still not covered under AppleCare+. The screen needs to be accidentally damaged seriously (cracked etc).

Bro you ok or not?

Every iPad comes with one year of hardware repair coverage through its one-year limited warranty and up to 90 days of complimentary technical support. AppleCare+ extends your iPad, Apple Pencil and Apple‑branded iPad keyboard coverage to two years from your AppleCare+ purchase date and includes unlimited incidents of accidental damage protection. Each incident is subject to a service fee.1 In addition, you’ll get 24/7 priority access to Apple experts by chat or phone through getsupport.apple.com.

Meanwhile feels good to be using both 13 and 11 inch Ipad pros with MKB, way superior experience vs MacBook Air M2. Only downside is external monitor support sucks, latency cmi vs Macbook. Hope Apple can do something about it.

Let me know if Apple will replace your scratched Ipad screen FOC under Apple Care, and how many times you can do it.
Scratch is considered cosmetic, need to smash it yourself and screen replacement is 42. Alternatively, just replace entire iPad Pro for like 148. Either way, Applecare TnC does not replace screens for free.

April 11, 2024: I can tell you for sure that AppleCare + does NOT cover scratches. I have similar scratches with yours, it is pretty noticeable. I contacted  and get appointment with them. I went to  store with that, they checked my iPhone and the staff told me for sure, that it is just scratches and they won’t cover it. The staff even showed me her iPhone which the scratches is much worse than mine, but still they don’t cover that. SAD.

Exactly. If you purposely smash your screen just to get AppleCare+ warranty replacement, that is not accidental, and you are LYING if you try to claim warranty replacement for accidental damage.

Either way just drop the iPad or whatever, confirm can get. Express replacement don’t even need to go down the store.

and my previous post already say scratches not covered. You are the one who said accidental damage is not covered by AppleCare.

from my previous visit: I was also angry that the Genius Bar staff told me that scratches are not covered. So I said how about I drop the phone now and crack the screen to replace it, the staff said: if you do it in front of us, you cannot file the AppleCare warranty claim.

so who cares what you do at home?

Yes noted, I've added the correction to my first post that is wrong. PEACE.

Anyway, back to my original post, AppleCare is meant to cover accidental damages. To Apple, the cost of manufacturing is so low that they can replace an iPhone 16 pro for you each time at a cost of $148. Go see iPhone section and see the topic: AppleCare for iPhone, see how they exploit the AppleCare system.

I do buy AppleCare+ for my Ipad. And still add screen protector.

Good idea to take care of your device. If I were you, I will actually buy AppleCare on the 364th day by bringing into the store for inspection. AppleCare starts on the date of purchase, so total warranty 3 years. In the last few weeks of the third year, just drop it and get entire replacement (new battery, screen etc)

I thought must get within the first 60 or 90 days?
