I think  won’t change for you? now that there’s an unauthorized part inside the phone.
I did not share the information to the Apple.
I just said I wanna change the battery, that's all.
They did proceed and I got the phone with new battery.

I wanted to change the battery at Apple store but Apple genius said they can't change it for me if I can't start the phone.
They explained to me that the battery maybe is still good, so if motherboard is kaput, changing to the new battery, it will not help the situation.

So, with above information from Apple., I was under the impression the motherboard is kaput lah. I just went to the Mister Mobile, Just wanted them to turn on. Once turned on, I wanna save all data.

Then I read the comments lol. I would have saved $165 :s13:
Actually if you are just after the data, why go spend money to change the battery?

To be honest, I was just curious to see what happens after I changed the battery, and it was her last phone so i just wanna keep it alive.

Anyway, I charged it to 100%, I left it overnight in airplane mode with all apps killed, background app refresh disabled, all radios disabled. And this morning I saw it is still 100%.

Another update. After 21 hours, the battery dropped to 95%. Is this an indication of leakage?
My iPhone 6S Plus and 7 are still 100% but they were turned off though, where they iPhone 12 was on airplane mode with all radios disabled and background apps killed.

21 hours in airplane mode is unlikely a leakage .

usually motherboard leakage u will see it drop at least 5% per hour

worse cases one every min drop 1% 😆

I tried another method.
Turned the phone off, leave it for another 23hours, it maintained at 100%.
The phone should be fine now.
