Smartphone innovation has stagnated. A 3 years old Pro iPhone is still a very capable and good phone in today's standard.

It ages and performs well even after 3 or 4 years. I even have friends still using iPhone 8

exactly. actually it can easily use for 5 to 7 years. one of my colleagues is still using iphone XR, this year only no more iOS update to XR.

i went to do the battery replacement at apple orchard road, i saw quite a lot of 14 pro/pro max users went there to change battery as well. :p

Tbh I tot this year's upgrade is huge but after watching reviews hai hao only.. u probably have to wait longer for significant upgrades.. maybe just get a magsafe wireless powerbank to dong first??

another reason why I die die must change the battery is that even the capacity is stagnant at 73% for super super long time. The charging behaviour can be weird time to time also. Sometime I charged my phone the battery percentage is not going up but going down instead, it showed that Aging of the battery at super jialat stage now.

I had spent significant amount of time playing mobile game on my phone, that’s probably explain why the battery degraded so jialat.

iPhone 14 Pro Max in my opinion is still very capable phone despite 3 years old now. Can easily use for another 2 or more years to come.

My wife is still using iPhone 14 512 GB version as the main phone (bought in late 2022). Not yet changing the battery as she can still can use it (battery health at 79% now). And she may change to iPhone 18 in late 2026. But most likely we will still spend the S$145 to change the battery at the Apple Official shop.

She was using iPhone 6S+ 128 GB version (spoiled), iPhone 7+ 256GB (still alive, changed battery once) and then iPhone X 256 GB (still alive, changed battery once).

Early this year I got her a Poco X6 Pro 12GB/512GB version for one specific use case: screen recording to record the online lectures.
