They did this for iPhone 8 -iphone X then the price forever stuck at1888

The pill cut out is... let's hope got improvement. As it stands, it may take up less area, but there's a gap above the pills, and another small gap below the below compared to just a notch. And software is not going to fill that up so our status bar real estate space become thicker again lol.

Make sense for the normal 14 so that there is a diff between the normal and the pro. So next yr 15 will be using this yr A16 SoC.

yeah I think they figured it out, or rather, it made sense because the 13 and 13 mini used 12 pro's camera system. there is a chance 14 and 14 max will use 13 pro's lenses, e.g. ultra wide with auto-focus. hope so!
