Still dont understand why people need to ‘test drive’ a phone for a few weeks before intending to return it to the shop.

I have never felt the need to abuse the system. Mostly i just preorder to collect on day 1, or worse come to worst just ‘test drive’ at the showroom. And i have never had any regrets.

Feel feel, take some shots at the showroom not enough meh? If everyone does ‘test driving’ at home with the intention to return after a few weeks, whats Apple gonna do with all those phones?
Let me put it to you this way, if let's say you are a lifetime iphone user but now you want to buy a foldable phone, do you prefer to have the chance to test drive the Honor Magic V5 for while or do you think it's fine to just test on the demo set and drop $2K on it?

The staff inside apple actually encourage you to try and return if you don't like it, just don't abuse but they will blacklist/ban you. I got 1 friend kena blacklisted.
how to even get pban from using the system sia? I tried with MacBook Air, returned and get MacBook Pro. Tried iPhone 15 and return. So far, I haven't tried any apple products further. Only apple products i owned in MacBook Pro

Few days ago picked up the iPhone 17 Pro from a physical Apple Store in Japan with SIM-free, eSIM-only variant. The camera shutter sound turned out to be nothing to worry about.

The display panel is G9N, and the battery was manufactured in October 2025.

Now in Singapore, when Live Photo is set to Auto, On, or Off, the shutter sound will differ, but it’s so soft that you can barely hear it. If the phone is in silent mode, there’s no shutter sound at all.

In Japan, the shutter sound is slightly louder than what we’re used to on Singapore local sets, and it cannot be muted.

When my iPhone 16 Pro and the new iPhone 17 Pro were used in Japan, the Satellite SOS option appeared. Once back in Singapore, that feature disappeared again.

Out of japan the sound will be auto off, same for korea.
Currently, the shutter sound is still present in Singapore, but it’s very soft and minimal. The sound varies depending on whether the phone is in silent mode and whether Live Photo is set to Auto, On, or Off. It doesn’t affect day-to-day use, even in Singapore.

In return, I get benefits like a slightly larger battery capacity and an eSIM-only setup.
