iPhone 4 : Recovery mode with iTunes failed - error 2001

Last night, my iPhone 4 was very warm to the touch. i turn off a few apps in the background, n put it on the table. Then the screen went blank. The sleep/wake and Home buttons became unresponsive.

I tried all methods on the Apple site including using recovery mode on itunes. While connected to itunes (on macbook pro), it still fails to recover. When the iTunes status changes from "Preparing iPhone for recovery" to
waiting for iPhone", the iPhone screen would flash white and go blank. iTunes then shows "error 2001".

Anyone knows what is going on with this phone? Thanks

If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.

Tried everything Le. In the end, a repair shop discovered many more errors despite changing some parts. So the phone was declared dead in the end
