Hi all,

I have just reset my phone setting.

After that I realise in Setting>Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi is not in bold

Meaning is not working, but my home is actually Wi-Fi enable. How can I do the setting? I simply can't click on the Wi-Fi which is not in bold as noting is happening when I click on it

Setting > wifi Networks > switch on wifi & ask to join wifi networks. You should be able to see yr wifi. Touch yr wifi & key in password. Once done u should be able to connect to yr wifi. If that fails, try switching off both modem & router then switch on again & try the above steps again.

Have you tried restarting the router and disabling/re-enabling the wireless network?

My guess is he is talking about the wifi selection in Setting being greyed out.
He is likely having a jailbreak iPhone with iOS 5.0.1 or iOS 5.1.1 and have done a "erase all content and setting" in the Setting so that he can sell his iPhone.
From the website info, any jailbreak for iOS 5.0 and above, the "erase all content and setting" will not work and unforeseen things like wifi greyed out may happened.
Important:!!!
Do not do a "erase all content and setting" for a jailbreak iPhone with iOS 5.0 and above to clear your iPhone content if you try to do this to sell your iPhone.
Try other means like restore to new iPhone or manually erase all the content. Other Reset function in Setting still works except the above.

Hope this help.

damn it. i have the same problem on my 4S.

it was working fine on iOS 5.1.1 till 1 day the WiFi suddenly died.

Factory Restored and upgraded to 6.0.1 but WiFi Option still greyed out.

Sometimes after restart, the WiFi selector will be on but will either be can't connect or can't find wireless network...

Anybody got any tips before i head down to Singtel shop to get a replacement ?

i don't know if its the heat or what, my 1 year plus iphone 4s started to have greyed out wifi syndrome recently, and googled for solutions which came out negative.

there was this freezer solution which asks one to put into freezer for few minutes. i was laughing at this, but decided to do it in the end because no other solution.

amazing, my wifi came back on, not sure if it will last though.

update: only temporary, time to get new phone!
