iPhone 5 compass interference, Ez-Link

By tapping my iphone 5 against the ez-link reader on buses and mrt, will it have effect on the compass' geomagnetic sensor? I keep having compass interference everywhere I go with Compass app, Gothere.sg app, Apple Maps app.

P.S: I have my ezlink to the back of my iphone 5.

The EZ-Link card should not affect the compass sensor in anyway. EZ-Link communication with the reader is based on radio frequencies and not magnetic. However, if your phone case has a magnet in the strap/cover that may affect the compass sensor. If you remove the phone from the cover, the compass sensor should function normally.
