Not sure if anyone had this 'bug' before; I was playing Asphalt 7 with my cousins (2 iPhone 5, 1 iPhone 4S) using the wifi connection when suddenly it got 'switched' off on one of the iPhone 5. The wifi option was still 'on' but it was showing the 3G signal icon. In the end, we had to stop playing for a while before the wifi option went back to working condition.

If all were on iOS 6, then it may be another iOS 6 bug that no one knows about...:s13:

Hi all, with regards to cellular data being used despite being on wifi.

This is an option "Wifi plus cellular" that was created in iOS6.

All u have to do is disable it. [i dont have an iphone right now to verify, but i remember that option before]

My received data usage is more than 500mb already since I got the phone yesterday morning. Used it to watch some youtube videos and surf the web that's all. Lucky still have 12gb of data to fall back on. LTE is fast but data transferred is too much.

I'm staying with my unlimited 3G as far as I can even though I have a 4G plan. Not much difference at this point since StarHub's LTE is not active yet.

Ever since i upgraded to iPhone 5 and recontracted with the new plans from telco which only gives us 2gb,3gb and 4gb data bundles, i realised that my iPhone 5 uses 0.1gb a day on average.... which also means that 3gb is the average usage for a month- can exceed anytime. Anyone else feels the same?

edit: without turning on LTE at all

whether u turn on LTE or not thus using more data really depends on your habit.. of cos.. when speed is faster.. we tend to surf more and watch more video..

Makes no dif leh bro, if you surf the same amount of youtube video and the web, you also inccur the same amount of data.

LTE /= eat more data. It only is faster.

Why not? Its not gonna eat your data when its on wifi, of course negating the fact that wifi signal may get loss sometime and the 3G kicks in. But i tried already, at most eat 100kb?

I got it at RRP from Singtel together with the nano sim. Confirmed with the CSO that the 12GB data cap still stay and I will have LTE connection.
