Nope. Before & after installing Onavo battery life didn't differ much on my 4s.

why u think LTE uses more data? it's supposed to enhance the speed. Like driving faster gets you quicker to the destination, it doesn't shorten the distance. Same logic right?

i think the telco is simply trying to charge more for LTE.

My friend can upload a lot of video and pictures to the net and exceed the previous data cap.
At least average should be 5gb - 6gb
