I noticed my data usage also went up.. Just got the phone about a week ago and I've already used ~500MB and all I've done is whatsapp, twitter & Facebook on data! Occasionally watch YouTube and dl apps too but those are on wifi. So means I've been using data all this while?

As a precaution I've turned off LTE. Should I turn off 3G too? On my iPhone 4 previously my monthly data usage would be like 600-700MB only...

Normally when I'm home, I will switch off cellular and only use wifi. This helps I guess :)

I heard that iPhone 5 will auto select the faster network, for example if the wifi is on and LTE is on, due to the fact that the wifi is slower, iphone 5 will actually use LTE to do all the activities.

Is there an app to switch off or on LTE/3G/Wifi during certain timings? Or have to wait for jailbreak? e.g. auto switch to wifi only when at home, LTE when commuting.

Is the singtel app accurate? Because the app's data usage is different from the phone's celluar data usuage.

yes..the singtel one is more accurate. it reflects the same amount on the app and my bill for the month. phone's cellular data usage is more than stated by singtel ( dont know why ) :)

According to NPD Research, the average 15 to 34 year-old smart phone user uses 3 GB of data per month.

Bro, pls take data with a pinch of salt. What's the population of people which they use to get data? Location, and subscriber? I wish they use orchard as a primary location to get data, but we all know data obtained from orchard vs simpang bedok is totally different.

:s22: you know what they are trying to do here...

I noticed this as well, it's only been 2 weeks but I've already exceeded 3.2GB. I only a light user and only surf facebook and the occasional youtube videos. Before this I average ~1GB per month, there's no way I could have hit this much data in such a short period of time.

Me too. I usually clocked 2GB or less per month. However, within 1 week of getting my iPhone 5, my data usage is already 2.4GB. Thereafter, I turned off LTE and the usage dropped back to normal.

I have exceeded my 3GB quota and just called SingTel hotline to feedback on this usual data consumption. Hopefully, they will do something about it.

Hopefully they do. I'm pretty sure a lot of ip5 users exceeded their usual data usage

My first 7 days of iPhone 5 data usage is ard 700mb.. Now my data usage for past 9 days are only 400mb. :)

And you guys may clock 2Gb so fast because of your usual usage pattern or your home wifi is not working or worse still as reported in some forum that it is iOS 6 bug that wifi is not connected and data usage is used

I had been using datawiz n iPhone cellular usage to monitor my M1 LTE data usage, the reading have been quite accurate until this morning where I had a shock, 300MB used at 7am as shown in datawiz reading. during this 1 hr, im only checked a few emails n read a couple pages of news beside turning on location service (which I switched off 2 mins later). Currently my datawiz reading is about 1GB n iPhone cellular usage reading is at 650MB, is there a bug on datawiz ? Anyone have encounter the same issue ? TIA
