Iphone 5 keeps restarting every few mins

As state my iphone 5 would keep restarting every few mins even when i'm charging. before this happen there is already a problem of the battery percentage on the top right not updating/changing. Since it will auto restart, i cant backup or update the ios and use the phone normally. I am currently on IOS 7.0.2. Any idea what to do?

Update: manage to update the ios to 7.1.1, also tried doing to factory reset. But problem is still not solved, even have trouble restoring my backup from icloud, when i try to log in my icloud, it says "An error occurred while trying to save the iCloud account"

do a factory reset. dont restore backup.
observe if it will restart as you mentioned.

either your backup is corrupted or your phone needs repair

How did you manage to update your phone to iOS 7.1.1 if your phone keeps restarting?

Also, have you attempted to boot your iPhone into Recovery Mode and do a full Factory Reset (Apple Knowledge Base: HT1808) -> set up as a new phone -> Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings -> Restore from iCloud

i tried doing a factory reset but doing halfway the phone got disconnected and now its stuck on the screen where there is a cable connecting to itune

There will be a period it stops restarting for awhile thats how i update it. I cant boot in in recover mood, i tried but my itune doesnt pop up with the recovery screen but there a connection sound the deng deng when i plug the cable in. but right now my screen is stuck in this screen. Just to check, you followed exactly the steps below?

Recovery Mode:

1. Turn off your device. If you can't turn it off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time and wait a few seconds for it to turn off.
2. Plug the device's USB cable into your computer only.
3. Hold down the device's Home button as you connect the USB cable to it.
4. When you see the Connect to iTunes screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 one more time.
5. USB cord pointing the iTunes symbol
6. iTunes should open and display a message such as: "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."

Also, try removing the application "Apple Mobile Device Support" as well as iTunes and then followed by re-installing iTunes. If this fails, try plugging your phone into another computer.

Thanks though i went to the A.Lab at plaza sing this morning they help me to reset my phone somehow. But they said regarding the restarting, its a hardware problem and i will have to pay $450 for replacement if i want to ,since my warranty is over

Sorry to hear that! You able to get another phone to tide you over this period? Wouldn't recommend paying $450 when you can top up a bit more to get a iPhone 6 coming later this year...
