For those staying in north. DG lifestyle at north point still has a lot. At least 7-8 on display and no idea how much behind counter.

Just bought one 30min ago.

i got it at apple store online, and it was shipped out the following day despite the estimated delivery to be around 2 weeks.... those who wants the cable but couldn't find any in retail stores, can try buying from apple store online.

I ordered the 3rd party ones last week and expecting delivery this week. It's much cheaper and believed it came with the chips as well. Will post whether the 3rd party cable can sync when I got them and try it. :s13:

It's not just a matter of can sync or not. Down the road, any peripherals or added functionalities do not work with 3rd party cables then how? Buy another one?

If one can afford an iPhone at the kind of price point it currently is, what's a mere $28 compared to that?

Isn't that similar to those who can afford to buy and drive a Jaguar but sting on parking and petrol.

If 3rd party cable can do exactly the same but cheaper, why not? Consumers like us drive production efficiencies and forces companies to work towards driving down cost. That's how consumerism drive the market. My money can be better spend on more value items. Since first generation iPhone, I had no problems using 3rd party cables and cheap at that as well.

Why not just use apple earbuds? Why pay $$$ for other earbuds? Are apple earbuds the only one we need to use? There are cheaper earbuds out there with better acoustic performances than the old apple ear phone that came bundled with the phone.

Your example of jaguar is not really similar. Parking and petrol are not accessories.

Does anyone know where I can get a few iPhone 5 Lightning Cables? I've tried a few Epi Centre & iStudio but they told me 2-3 weeks. Need them desperately.
Just bought one, 45mins ago, from Level 2 Yishun NorthPT (Shop selling Mac computer & Accessories).

Bought 2 pcs and asked the lady if they still have a lot of stocks left. She answered 还有几十条

Yes, DG Northpoint still got lots of stock @ just before 7pm.

Got 2 packs from them and she took these out from the small carton box. There is another carton of unopened lightning cable packs.

Went VivoCity, all OOS around 6pm today.

I want to buy a 3rd party one because:

- I want a retractable cable. I travel for work and having messy cables in my bag is a pain. Retractable cables keep things neat and easy for me to get to them when I need them.

- I want a cable that can preferably serve more than one device. My current cable can be used as both an iPod cable, or can be 'flipped' to a mini-USB cable. This reduces the number of cables I need to bring while on the road. Now, if there is one that can be iPod/mini-USB/Lightning, then that's the one I need. If not, it should still be Lightning/something else.

Of course it would be great if Apple would make a retractable 2-in-1 cable, but they don't. So, I'll just have to wait for something from China.

seems like plenty of stocks at suburb areas as I managed to get 1 at ARC.

Was at iStudio at Paragon the day before and was told that it will be OOS till 5 Oct islandwide... As a matter of fact, was told off quite rudely when I asked if they still have the lightning cable. Their response is "5 Oct". Was wondering how a question like "anymore lightning cable" can be equated with an answer of "5 Oct"??!? Must have failed comprehension during his earlier days... Furthermore, can claim with a smirk look that OOS islandwide till 5 Oct when everyone else here is able to still get it!

I support your view.. If there are $2 daiso apple cable and works like $28 apple original cable, I confirmed not buy $28 apple original cable.. I have tons of third party $2 daiso old apple cable..

Will "really" regret if I pay for one $28 original apple "lightning" cable when I can have 14 third party $2 daiso old apple "lightning" cable..

I paid $48 for my iPhone 5. My company pay for all the rest... So $28 is more than 50% than the cost of my phone...
