Really? Is it near the apple area? I looked around see all kind of cables but the lightning to usb cable. Asked the staff there, he said OOS. Damn it.

In Apple's Keynote, it was shared that the new, all-digital connector "features an adaptive interface that uses only the signals that each accessory requires.". Peter Bradstock from Double Helix Cables who first shared that the lightning connector cables feature integrated authentication chips, and now believes that the layout of the pins must be dynamically assigned based on how the cable is physically plugged in to a device like the iPhone 5.

In short, it is still unclear what Apple's cable can do and whether those features/capabilities will still be functional on those early third-party cables in the market.

Juz sharing what's been reported.

I remember someone posted that the chip is an DAC chip. So thought of sharing more published info when available.

Personally, I think it's more than just "milking". Com'on, with full digital cable that can dynamically assign the pin to perform different function/purpose, it really opens up to a whole new world of accessories and other uses for that lightning port instead of being restricted to those of yesteryear 30-pin dock (audio and video uses only, what else?).

Imagine this:
"Lightning" interfaces with health-care equipment to provide a portable interface device with those sophisticated equipment that provides convenience, personalised, etc.
