iPhone 5 problems - help

My gf iPhone 5 has been having this no signal problem from Singtel on and off frequently. I have removed the SIM and put it back but problem still persist.
I wonder if it is the problem with the handset. The SIM was cut to accomodate the micro nano from iPhone 4.
Wi-Fi ok for whatsapp chat and internet.

Put another SIM card in the phone and try if here signal if yes then time to change sim card
