Hi guys, I have an old iPhone 5 and the battery somehow got "inflated" and I assume died.
So I bought an OEM battery from eBay and changed it myself, following instructions from some youtube videos. It worked. Well the new battery was unable to fully charged somehow, but it worked for a while. Able to call, able to sync onto iTunes etc.
Then a few weeks later, I realised that the battery went flat. I was unable to charge it via external charger nor plugging into a computer. In fact I was not able to turn on the phone at all.
Thinking that it could be another case of faulty battery, I went to eBay and a bought an original battery. It did not worked.
So currently I am unable to access my phone even when plugged into a computer. I am not able to do any reset or reboot whatsoever.
The phone does know when a cable is plug into it but it just could not turn on, nor charge. When I plug a cable into the phone, the phone shows a battery image with a tiny red bar indicating flat battery.
Anyone came across such a situation? If I were to send it for servicing at those external repair shop, what would be the estimated amount?
I have some information in the phone that I did not save out previously so throwing it away is not an option.
Thanks in advance.
